BETHESDA, MD—RLJ Lodging Trust, located here, has opened the Hotel Indigo New Orleans Garden District, completing the seventh and final conversion in its 2011-2012 capital program. Formerly an independent hotel, the 132-room property was closed in 2008. RLJ purchased it in 2010 for $6.4 million, executed a $16.9-million renovation plan and reopened it under the Hotel Indigo flag. The hotel’s design features locally inspired murals, decorative ironwork and reclaimed wood ceilings.
