AmericInn Acquires Omaha Hampton Inn Thursday December 13th, 2012 - 12:25AM

OMAHA, NE–AmericInn acquired a 128-room Hampton Inn here for $3.4 million and converted it to the AmericInn Hotel & Suites Omaha. AmericInn plans to invest $750,000 in improvements to the property, including adding an indoor swimming pool and a spa area. AmericInn will manage the property as well. The Omaha property is the fifth AmericInn in Nebraska. The mid-scale brand, which is based in Chanhassen, MN, has more than 250 units either open or under development in 24 states. The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
