NEW YORK—Leading Hotels of the World has added several new members to its roster of luxury hotels.
Included in the qualifying line up are: the 149-room Raffles Paris; the 99-room Hotel Schweizerhof Bern in Switzerland; the 24-villt Laucala Island Resort in Fiji; the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai; the 288-room Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, which is slated to opn this month; and the 41-room San Ysidro Ranch, located just south of Santa Barbara, CA.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
