NEW YORK—Wyndham Hotel Group added the new 106-room Wyndham Garden Chinatown, here at 93 Bowery, marking the third Wyndham Garden hotel in New York City and the second in Manhattan. The newly constructed hotel is owned by 93 Bowery Holdings, LLC, and managed by Wyndham Hotel Group’s management company. It joins sister properties Wyndham Garden Manhattan Chelsea West and the Wyndham Garden Long Island City Manhattan View across the East River in Queens. Guestrooms feature 32-in., flat-screen televisions, complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access, refrigerators, contemporary furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel features an atrium with bistro-style seating, an outdoor terrace, free high-speed wireless Internet access, an on-site business center and the 24-hour Blue Harmony fitness center. Elevate Restaurant & Lounge, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers Asian-fusion cuisine and a full-service bar in a contemporary setting. Room service for hotel guests and banqueting services also are available. For meetings and events, Wyndham Garden Chinatown offers nearly 1,700 sq. ft. of space for up to 75 event attendees, including a 400-sq.-ft. boardroom for small meetings. The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
