FREDERICK, MD–TownePlace Suites by Marriott has opened a hotel here, the first LEED hotel in Frederick. The mid-price extended-stay property is owned by Westview Hospitality Associates, LLC, and operated by Plamondon Hospitality Partners under a long-term management agreement with Marriott International. The hotel expects to receive Silver LEED certification and will be the second TownePlace Suites to receive this level of recognition. The hotel's eco-friendly measures include a bicycle fleet for guest use, front and back of house recycling programs, charging stations for electric cars, a saline-water indoor swimming pool and green products and cleaning supplies.
