PHUKET, THAILAND–The 156-key Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort here has added 44 deluxe garden bungalows that marry contemporary interiors with traditional Thai design elements.
The 571 sq. ft. bungalows feature recessed lighting and pillow top mattresses along with extensive use of natural wood, including hard wood floors. The bungalows are located in clusters, creating the appearance of a classic Thai village.
The 70-acre property was formerly known as the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort & Spa before Outrigger assumed management of the property in late-2011. Based on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, the Outrigger Enterprises Group owns, operates or has under development 45 properties with approximately 11,000 rooms in Hawaii and Asia Pacific.
