LEXINGTON, KY—The Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa, located here, will begin a three-year renovation this December. The first phase consists of a $5 million investment into the guestrooms and corridors. HVS Design is the interior design firm that will handle guestroom, corridor and concierge lounge.renovation According to the design firm, the design scheme was inspired by the region’s landscape and incorporates elements of Bluegrass history. In addition, the blue accent colors used are an homage to the University of Kentucky. The hotel, which has 388 guestrooms and 21 suites, will be getting new carpeting, accents, headboards, desks, lighting, Tempur-Pedic mattresses, patio furniture, modern bathroom amenities and locally inspired artwork.
