America’s Best Franchising Opened 10 Hotels in 3rd Quarter Wednesday October 24th, 2012 - 10:05AM

ATLANTA, GA—America’s Best Franchising opened 10 new hotels and sold an additional 10 properties during the third quarter, totaling 19 quarters of uninterrupted growth. The properties opened were: America’s Best Inns & Suites in Tampa, FL; Yiwu, China; Galveston, TX; Breckenridge, TX; and Ranger, TX; Budgetel Inns & Suites in Fairfield, TX and Glen Ellyn, IL; 3 Palms Hotels & Resorts in Sarasota, FL and Helen, GA; and a Country Hearth Inns & Suites in Decatur, IL. The company now operates almost 275 hotels with more than 18,000 rooms. Though the majority of the properties are in the US, the company has been expanding aggressively in India and China, and has hotels in Canada, Nigeria and Belize. America’s Best Franchising expects to sell and open 40 new hotels this year.

The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
