SARASOTA, FL—Buffalo Lodging Associates recently held a grand opening for the 134-unit Courtyard by Marriott Sarasota/University Park located here at 8305 Tourist Centre Drive.
The former Comfort Suites is the first Courtyard in the area featuring the “Refreshing Business" concept.
The celebration was attended by a number of hotel clients and local dignitaries, including representatives from Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, candidates for Manatee County Commission and representatives from Benderson Development.
"We are very excited to join the Marriott family and bring this brand to our hospitality community," said General Manager Jan Stanek. "Thank you to Benderson Development, Buffalo Lodging Associates, Pat Cook Construction and our hard-working staff for making this happen."
Courtyard by Marriott Sarasota’s highlights include a contemporary lobby featuring flexible seating options ranging from private media pods with high-definition televisions, plus an open lounge area and library. The business center features complimentary computer terminals and a separate computer station dedicated to printing airline boarding passes and checking flight status. A signature element of the lobby is GoBoard technology, a 57-in. LCD touch screen with local information, maps, weather and news. For onsite dining, The Bistro offers a variety of menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including light snacks.
Rooms offer plush bedding, HD TVs and a sitting area. Complimentary high-speed Internet access is available in all guestrooms, along with WiFi in public spaces. The hotel also features a fitness center, an outdoor pool and whirlpool, plus a meeting room accommodating up to 80 persons. The property also offers a large patio with a fire pit.
