Embassy Suites Names New Brand Leader

MCLEAN, VA–Hilton Worldwide has appointed John Rogers to be global head of its all-suite, full-service Embassy Suites Hotels brand.
Rogers joins the brand from Hilton in the U.K., where he served most recently as a regional VP, overseeing 30 hotels as well as the company's spa operations across Europe. He joined Hilton in 2007. He replaces Jim Holthouser, who remains global head for full-service brands. Rogers will be based in the company's corporate headquarters in McLean.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
