NEW YORK–Millennium Hotels & Resorts has renamed the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel One UN, following an extensive renovation of one of its two towers. The 154-room West Tower renovation represents an estimated $30 million. Renaming the property is intended to give it a more contemporary positioning and a fresh start in the marketplace, according to managers of the ownership group, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, plc. The hotel is located around the corner from the United Nations complex on the East Side of Manhattan. Guestrooms in the hotel's East Tower are scheduled to be renovated in 2013. Millennium Hotels & Resorts has a portfolio of 14 hotels in North America, including two others in New York, one on the West Side in midtown and one downtown.
