CARTHAGE-SIDI BOU SAID, TUNISIA—The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., plans to open its first hotel in Tunisia in this suburb of Tunis, the country's capital, in late-2014.
The 129-suite Ritz-Carlton Tunis, Carthage, will be owned by Companie Tunisienne de Development Touristique, a subsidiary of the Driss-Jenayah Group, and operated by Ritz-Carlton under a long-term management agreement. Located overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the hotel site is adjacent to the country's presidential palace and in close proximity to Carthage's ancient ruins.
