Chartres, Garrison JV Acquires Tremont Suites Hotel

BALTIMORE—Chartres Lodging Group and Garrison Investment Group purchased the Tremont Suites Hotel and Grand Historic Venue, with Kokua Hospitality, LLC, taking on management of the 300-room, all-suites property, located here within downtown’s Inner Harbor.
Tremont Suites Hotel & Grand Historic Venue’s guest suites feature Beautyrest mattresses, kitchenettes, flat-panel, HD LCD TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Also available are a business center; on-site dining; fitness options, including a yoga studio, sauna and gym; and a seasonal outdoor pool.
The Tremont Suites Hotel location encompasses the Grand Historic Venue, which underwent a $27 million renovation in 2006. It features 45,000 sq. ft. of meeting space with 19 banquet rooms.

The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
