MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA and MOSCOW–Best Western Premier hotels have opened in these two cities, extending the number of countries where Best Western Premier operates to 34. Before the end of the year, additional Best Western Premier hotels are scheduled to open in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nairobi and Oman. Best Western Premier is the highest level descriptor in the Best Western brand, following Best Western Plus and Best Western.

The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
