Westin Adds Outdoor Workout Experience

STAMFORD, CT—Westin Hotels & Resorts has partnered with ElliptiGO, creator of an outdoor elliptical cycle, that will offer guests an innovative device to help them stay fit when away from home.
Guests at participating properties may rent the $2,500 ElliptiGO 8C as part of their daily workout routine and take in the local sights for an average rental fee of $10. The ElliptiGO combines running, cycling and the elliptical trainer to deliver a low-impact, high-performance outdoor workout.
Properties participating in the pilot program that will run throughout the summer include: The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa; The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa;The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa; The Westin Georgetown, Washington, D.C.; and The Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa.

The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
