Pestana to Open Six New Hotels Friday July 20th, 2012 - 10:22AM

HAMBURG, GERMANY—Pestana will open six new hotels this year in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Pestana projects set to open include: the 150-room Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort near Lisbon; the 100-room Pestana Bogotá to debut in July; the 73-room Pestana Hotel Anfaplace in Casablanca, Morocco, scheduled to open in September; the 99-room Pestana South Beach Art Deco Hotel in Miami, which will open in October; and a new 92-room Pousada Hotel in Corviha, Portugal, to open in December.

The most recent NYU Conference, earlier this month proved, once and for all, that the lodging industry has finally turned the corner and happy days are, indeed, here again. While the economists and pundits all provided plenty of anecdotal evidence to bear that out in terms of supply and demand ratios, RevPAR projections, asset values and all the other metrics, that’s not what has me convinced.
