Gaylord Terminates Plans For San Diego Area Resort
NASHVILLE, TN—Gaylord Entertainment has decided to pull the plug on its plans to develop a resort and convention hotel in Chula Vista, CA. The company cited prolonged planning and approval processes, a complicated regulatory and legal structure and excessive off-site infrastructure costs as the reasons for the decision.

Hotel Sector Exhibits Largest Loan Volume Decline Among Asset Classes
WASHINGTON—Commercial and multifamily real estate loans took another tumble in the third quarter, falling 53% compared with Q3 2007, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Quarterly Survey of Commercial/Multifamily Mortgage Banking Originations. All asset classes felt the decline, but the hotel sector saw the largest drop of 87%.
