ABU DHABI, UAE–The developer Abu Dhabi National Hotels has opened the 532-room Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, here.

The luxury resort is the first Ritz-Carlton here and the ninth Ritz-Carlton in the Middle East. The design is inspired by Renaissance architecture and the urban planning of the city of Venice. It consists of 10 buildings arranged in a crescent formation. The property is in close proximity to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Ritz-Carlton, which is part of Marriott International, currently operates 82 hotels around the world. Thirty more are in development.
