ATLANTA—Candlewood Suites, IHG's midscale extended-stay brand, has opened two new properties and now boasts a portfolio of over 300 hotels.
The properties are the 81-suite Candlewood Suites Birmingham/Homewood in Alabama, and the 84-suite Candlewood Suites Manhattan in Kansas. The new Candlewood Suites in Kansas is the first extended-stay property in Manhattan. In addition, it is just a short drive from Wichita, KS, where the brand originated in 1996.
The Candlewood Suites Manhattan is owned by Flinthills Hospitality and managed by Noble Hospitality, while the Candlewood Suites Birmingham/Homewood is owned by Lakeshore Holdings, LLC, and managed by N8, LLC. Both are franchised by affiliates of IHG.
The brand, bought by IHG in 2003, currently has over 75 hotels in the pipeline.
