ATLANTA—InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) opened the Holiday Inn Express Charleston Downtown-Ashley River following an extensive renovation.

The enhancements included all-new furniture, fixtures and equipment. All 153 rooms in the eight-story hotel include granite countertops and walkout balconies. The property also features complimentary high-speed Internet access available throughout the hotel, a fitness center, large outdoor pool area, a 24-hour business center and almost 700 sq. ft. of meeting space accommodating about 50 people.

Guestrooms feature a 32-in. HD flat-screen TV, queen- or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair and an in-room coffee machine featuring complimentary Smart Roast 100% Arabica coffee. The SimplySmart shower will incorporate a proprietary Stay Smart Kohler showerhead, signature shower curtain with curved rod, upgraded 100% cotton terry towels and a custom line of cinnamon-scented bath products. Bedding features a decorative throw, a medium-weight duvet blanket and 200 threadcount sheets.

The opening of this property comes on the heels of the opening of the Holiday Inn Historic Charleston Downtown in January.

Charleston OPCO, LLC owns the hotel and Charlestowne Hotels manages it. It is franchised by an affiliate of IHG.
