WASHINGTON–Air delays resulting from the upcoming sequester will discourage travelers from booking hotels as well as flights.

Budget cuts mandated by Congress are expected to result in furloughs to Federal Aviation Administration employees, including air traffic controllers, as well as to workers of the Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration, slowing service.

With travelers concerned about time-conuming waits for security checks and delays in take-off, business travelers are likely to delay non-essential trips, while leisure travelers are expected to postpone vacations, resulting in fewer hotel rooms being booked.
