FAJARDO, PUERTO RICO—La Quinta is accelerating its international growth through a series of agreements with an affiliate of Grupo Santos, a Honduran organization whose affiliates include a construction and development firm.
La Quinta made the announcement at its annual brand conference here and the company expects the agreements to bring La Quinta hotels to cities in Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama. Grupo Santos first expects to develop a hotel of more than 100 rooms in Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras. Construction is expected to begin by the summer of 2013 and a grand opening is expected in early 2014.
The agreements also call for the development of new hotels in Honduras in such cities as San Pedro Sula, Comayagua, Choluteca, and Roatan; as well as Managua, Nicaragua; Panama City, Panama; and Guatemala City, Guatemala.
