OKLAHOMA CITY—The Courtyard by Marriott Oklahoma City Downtown has unveiled phase one of its more than $2-million renovation, including all guestrooms and part of its 5,000-plus sq. ft. of meeting and convention space.

The hotel’s 225 guestrooms and suites now feature new plush carpet, furnishings and fixtures in a contemporary style. The design scheme features a color palette of crimson, gold and earth tones. In addition, the rooms feature 37-in. LCD HDTVs, Serta Perfect Sleeper bedding and the white linen Revive Collection.

The renovation included an environmental strategy, as more than 31,000 sq. yds. of wall vinyl was recycled and guestroom furniture was donated.

The hotel, owned and operated by Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, plans to begin phase two in August. This will include common areas, select meeting space and the fitness center. The hotel is adopting the Courtyard brand’s Refreshing Business Concept including pull-up tray tables, wireless Internet access and ample electrical outlets for powering digital devices in the lobby; a 57-in. LCD TV GoBoard with touch screen to navigate local information; and the addition of a Starbucks.
