CHICAGO—Hyatt Regency Chicago, the city’s largest hotel, will unveil its $168-million renovation in April 2013.

Architects and planners at Bentel & Bentel are in charge of the three-phase process, which began in 2010. Phase I, completed in 2010, consisted of all guestrooms in the West Tower. Phase II, completed in 2011, included all guestrooms in the East Tower. Phase III will consist of the East Tower lobby, all meeting and event spaces, as well as the dining outlets.

The lobby will feature new, modern décor including an art wall, as well as high-tech features like iPad check-in services, check-in pods and kiosks and high-speed Internet.

The property’s 228,000 sq. ft. of meeting space includes four ballrooms, 63 meeting rooms and the 70,000-sq.-ft. Riverside Exhibition Center. Updated amenities include high-tech features and A/V offerings.

The updated dining options include the following: Stetsons Modern Steak and Sushi, which opened last month; Market Chicago, which also opened in January; American Craft Kitchen & Bar, opening in April; and BIG Bar, featuring the longest freestanding bar on the continent, which will also be unveiled in April.
