TORONTO—The Metropolitan Hotel Toronto will become downtown Toronto’s first DoubleTree by Hilton when it converts later this year.

Bayview Hospitality Group recently acquired the hotel, along with its two restaurants, and the company will continue to operate the property after the conversion. As part of the repositioning of the hotel, BHG is planning an extensive renovation.

In addition, DoubleTree plans to convert three more properties in Canada this year, which will more than double its portfolio in the country. Currently, the brand offers two locations in Canada—the DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Airport and DoubleTree Fallsview Resort & Spa by Hilton Niagara Falls.
