AUSTIN, TX—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and White Lodging Services Corp. plan to open a second Westin Hotel, here, in the spring of 2015.
The 326-room Westin Austin Downtown, which is scheduled to break ground this year, will be a joint venture between White Lodging, the Harry Whittington family and REI Real Estate Services, LLC. The new 17-story hotel will be located in close proximity to the city's convention center and many of Austin's entertainment venues. The hotel, which White Lodging will manage, will feature a full-service restaurant, fitness center and 13,500 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.
