Diamond Resorts Names Palmer CEO

LAS VEGAS—Diamond Resorts International named David Palmer president/CEO, promoting him from president/CFO.

In addition, Al Bentley was named EVP/CFO, moving from his position as EVP/Europe.

Founder and principal shareholder Stephen J. Cloobeck remains chairman.

Palmer has more than 20 years of experience as a private equity/financial professional. He served as Diamond's president since Sept. 20, 2010, and is a member of the board of directors.

Bentley served as EVP of Diamond Resorts Parent, LLC and its subsidiaries since April 2007. He also is a partner at Mackinac Partners, LLC, a financial advisory firm that has provided services to DRP since April 2007. Bentley has more than 30 years of broad-based business experience with expertise in the areas of corporate restructuring, business management and strategic planning, complex financing transactions, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, and financial and SEC reporting.

Prior to joining Mackinac, Bentley was a managing director at KPMG LLP and a senior manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. 

Diamond Resorts International has more than 220 branded and affiliated resorts in 28 countries with destinations throughout North and South America, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.
