SAVANNAH, GA–The Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, LLC, acquired the 145-room Mulberry Inn here—its first hotel in Georgia—for an undisclosed amount.
According to The Savannah Morning News, which first reported the transaction, San Francisco-based Kimpton acquired the property from locally based Prince-Bush-Smith Hotels, which also owns a Hampton Inn and a Holiday Inn Express in Savannah.
Kimpton plans eight months of renovation on the 1980s-era property before rebranding it as a Kimpton.
In the 1990s, the hotel was part of Holiday Inn.
