POCONO MANOR, PA–The Inn at Pocono Manor has put the finishing touches on a multi-year, $5 million renovation of the historic resort's main lodge, which opened 110 years ago.

Upgrades included new floor, wall and window treatments for the building's upper and lower lobbies, meeting and event space, destination restaurant and 190 main lodge guestrooms. A key part of the project was the restoration and reopening of massive fieldstone fireplaces in both lobbies after having been closed off for decades.

Resorts of the Inn at Pocono Manor's era typically featured large dining rooms. In the Inn's case, such a dining room was added in the 1920s. As part of the renovation, original hardwood flooring was uncovered and restored. Rich draperies were added to the dining room's imposing columns in an attempt to make the space appear more intimate.

New furniture in guestrooms was milled and finished to suggest the style of the late Victorian era that was popular in 1902, the year the Inn opened. Similarly, period-style lighting fixtures and paver tile wall finishes typical of that era were added to guest bathrooms. A color palette of soft green, blue and deep burgundy was used throughout.
