NEW YORK–Less than 2% of the city's hotels remain closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which caused widespread damage almost three weeks ago.

According to NYC&Co., the city's tourism marketing arm, 30 hotels closed during the storm out of 250 that are NYC&Co. members. NYC&Co. stressed that the city's tourism industry is quickly returning to normal as the annual Christmas-New Year's holiday season approaches, a peak travel period here. In addition, more than 95% of the city's tourist attractions are open and ready to greet travelers.
