WASHINGTON—The National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) elected its 2013 officers and W. Edward Walter, president/CEO of Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., will serve as chairman.
NAREIT also elected members of its executive board, board of governors, and audit and investment committee.
“I am pleased and honored to serve as NAREIT’s Chair for 2013, and I look forward to building on the achievements of my predecessor, Don Wood, and all of the prior NAREIT Chairs who have done so much to help move the REIT industry forward,” said Walter.
Other NAREIT officers for 2013 are First Vice Chair Ronald L. Havner, chairman/president/CEO of Public Storage, Inc.; Second Vice Chair Michael D. Fascitelli, president/CEO of Vornado Realty Trust; and Treasurer David J. Neithercut, president/CEO of Equity Residential. All of NAREIT’s officers also are members of its Executive Board.
