PHUKET—The Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort and Spa officially opens this weekend in Thailand.
The 156-key, 70-acre property, formerly known as the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort and Spa, will be run by Outrigger Hotels and Resorts as of November 3.
Outrigger took over the sales and marketing of the property in October 2011 and multiple changes—like the addition of 44 new deluxe garden bungalows, enhanced food and beverage venues and an updated gym—have been made since then. The 571-sq.-ft. bungalows are located in clusters, designed to give the atmosphere of a traditional Thai village. Each one features a walk-in wardrobe, flat-screen televisionand iPod/iPhone docking station.
In addition, a new executive chef with expertise in Thai, French, Italian and Japanese cuisine was hired to implement a refreshed food and beverage offering.
