The Holiday Inn West Bay features an on-site marina.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI—Interstate Hotels & Resorts assumed management of the 179-room Holiday Inn West Bay, here, following the hotel's recent acquisition by ValStone Partners, LLC, a Michigan-based private equity firm.

The new owners plan to invest in a multimillion-dollar hotel renovation that will enhance and revitalize the waterfront resort. The renovation is expected to be finished ahead of the summer 2013 vacation season.

The contract is the first management agreement with ValStone, according to Jim Abrahamson, Interstate’s CEO.

Located on a beach on Lake Michigan, Holiday Inn West Bay has been a Traverse City destination for more than 40 years. It features four restaurants, including outdoor dining, and two bars. An on-site marina with watercraft rentals, indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpools and sauna facilities and 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting space are available. A fitness center, complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour airport shuttle round out the hotel’s amenities.
