DoubleTree to Debut in Liverpool

The DoubleTree by Hilton brand will debut in Liverpool, England, in 2013.

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND—Hilton Worldwide  signed a franchise agreement with Municipal Annex Ltd. to open the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Liverpool, England.

The 87-room DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool will be managed by Sanguine Hospitality for the property’s owner, Municipal Annex Ltd.

“A UNESCO World Heritage site and home to The Beatles, Liverpool is a thriving cultural and historic center that also is the home to numerous businesses and corporate headquarters. The market remains robust in the UK, and we look forward to continued development across the country,” said Rob Palleschi, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton.

The hotel is expected to open in summer 2013 in the city’s former Municipal Annexe on the corner of Sir Thomas and Dale Streets. Constructed in 1865, the English Heritage Grade II-listed building will retain much of its original architecture.

Hotel amenities will include a restaurant, residents’ lounge, spa and swimming pool, as well as conference and events facilities.
