MIAMI—Starwood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Rick Segal to the newly created position of VP, Owner Relations for Latin America.
Segal will work across nine brands under the Starwood name. He will be responsible for liaising with the owners of almost 80 existing hotels and some 20 more under development.
Segal will serve as a main point of contact and as an advisor to the property owner and/or asset manager at most Starwood properties. He will also focus on ensuring that Starwood brand standards are being followed.
He will travel most every other week, sometimes for longer periods of time, to Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Argentina, Peru and Chile. His primary goal is to provide support to owners and strengthen the Starwood brand in Latin America.
