Rendering of Aloft

ATLANTA, GA—Banyan Investment Group and DeBartolo Development have purchased the Days Inn Atlanta Downtown here and will begin renovations immediately to turn the property into the first Aloft in the state. Completion is expected in Spring 2013.

The 263-room property will feature 242 rooms and suites after the renovation. The renovations will also add the “w xyz bar” with neon lights and live music; the “re:mix” lounge; an outdoor “backyard” with a swimming pool; 2,000 sq. ft. of meeting space; the “re:charge” fitness center; WiFi; and surface parking.

The investment totaled more than $25 million. While renovations are underway, the hotel will continue to operate as an independent property under the name “Hotel ATL.”
