MCLEAN, VA—The Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center in Glen Allen, VA has undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation of the interior and exterior space.
The conference center has invested over $3 million to upgrade technology. The lobbies, restaurants and meeting and function space were all renovated; new gardens, reception areas and recreational facilities were all added. All 183 guestrooms and suites will be renovated, scheduled for completion in 2013.
Ergonomic chairs were also added to replace banquet chairs. New carpeting and artwork were introduced in the meeting rooms and Henrico Ballroom, which was renovated to feature new fixtures and furnishings, as well.
A PSAV high-speed digital network has been installed throughout the property. The hotel is also the very first in the country to feature the new Quadriga Guest Room Media Center and Communications Portal, offering HD TV, movies, audio and high-speed Internet with wireless controls, as well as video on demand and high-speed Internet via the TV.
The Tavern restaurant features a new deck and fire pit and one of the few outdoor dining options in the Richmond area. In order to pay homage to the Battle of the Yellow Tavern, the site in which the restaurant is situated on, a Civil War cannon will be put in front of the Tavern. The restaurant has been updated with a new look, furniture, lighting and games.
The Crossings Pergola has been added to the property, as well as the Terrace Tent, both for outdoor events. Additionally, the pool area has been re-landscaped.
The Jefferson Lobby has been refurbished with a marbled reception area, staircase and new furnishings, in homage of the Jeffersonian influence. The gardens from Monticello were also replicated at the hotel, known as the Jefferson Gardens. The Madison Lobby was refurbished in a Victorian style.
The Liberty Golden Eagle—atop the Jefferson Building, one of three Federal-style buildings on the property—had its 24K gold plating restored.
