CHICGO—Hyatt affiliates of Hyatt Hotels Corporation have signed management agreements for an Andaz hotel in Gurgaon and a Grand Hyatt in Kochi for a total number of 56 hotels under development in India.
The Andaz Gurgaon is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2014; it will feature 275 guestrooms and 75 serviced apartments. In addition, it will offer a three-meal multi-cuisine restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, gourmet store, six-treatment room spa, fitness center and swimming pool. It will feature more than 11,5000 sq. ft. of meeting space, including five Andaz studios and a ballroom.
The Grand Hyatt Kochi will be located on Bolgatty Island in Kochi, on the eastern coast of the Indian state Kerala. The property will offer 250 guestrooms and a three-meal multi-cuisine restaurant, as well as two specialty restaurants, a bar and lobby lounge, 10-treatment room spa, fitness center, swimming pool and Grand Club lounge. Additionally, it will feature more than 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including a 26,000-sq.-ft. ballroom. It is slated to open in the first quarter of 2017.
Hyatt plans to open three new hotels in India during the rest of the year across its Park Hyatt and Hyatt Place brands, including: the 204-room Park Hyatt Chennai, set to open in late 2012; the 115-room Hyatt Place Hampi, set to open by the end of the year; and the 117-room Hyatt Place Pune, Hinjewadi, which will open at the end of 2012.
In India, Hyatt plans to open 18 Hyatt Regency hotels, 5 Grand Hyatt hotels, 5 Park Hyatt hotels, 23 Hyatt Place properties, 3 Andaz sites, 1 Hyatt House hotel and 1 Hyatt hotel.
