CHICAGO—A Hyatt affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation has entered into a management agreement with Bienes y Comercio, S.A. to open a Grand Hyatt hotel in Bogota, Colombia.
The hotel will be owned and constructed by Organizacion Luis Carlson Sarmiento Angulo. It will be apart of the Ciudad Empresarial mixed-use project.
The mixed-use project encompasses approximately 925,000 sq. ft. and will feature 18 office towers with a total of more than 6.5 million sq. ft. of leasable area. Retail space will occupy more than 226,000 sq. ft. that will include shops, cinema, f&b outlets, as well as meeting and conference space.
Bienes y Comercia, S. A. has invested approximately $130 million into the property, which will feature 297 guestrooms, including 53 suites. Goettsch Partners architects is designing the project. Guestrooms will range from 473 sq. ft.t to 1,051 sq. ft. It will open in early 2015. The hotel will also feature two restaurants, a lobby lounge, a patisserie, more than 24,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space and a 10,800-sq.-ft. ballroom. Additionally, there will be a fitness center, indoor pool and spa.
