BETHESDA, MD—Marriott International has completed the financial filings for a new brand that is to be called the Autograph Collection.
According to Marriott group president Robert McCarthy, the Autograph Collection will consist of independent upper upscale and luxury hotels that draw on Marriott marketing support, including being able to issue and redeem Marriott Rewards frequency points.
Similar to Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide's Luxury Collection and Hilton Worldwide's Waldorf Astoria Collection, properties that participate in the The Autograph Collection will retain their own names as their primary brand with an Autograph Collection tag line serving as a kind of sub-brand.
McCarthy said Marriott envisions having 25-30 properties participating in The Autograph Collection by year-end 2010.
