What are these?
WASHINGTON—The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Travel Promotion Act. The hospitality industry legislation now moves back to the Senate for a final vote.
The Senate passed an earlier version of the Travel Promotion Act in early September; however, the Senate’s version ran into a procedural snag in the House, causing the legislation to be added to a rapidly moving House bill earlier this week. The bill, therefore, faces a second Senate vote. If the Senate approves it once again, the bill will head to the desk of President Obama for approval.
The Travel Promotion Act is designed to increase tourism to the United States, create thousands of new jobs and bring billions of dollars of additional revenue into the country with the arrival of new international visitors.
The legislation also would yield the promotion of the U.S. to overseas visitors and better explain entry policies.
