NEW YORK—Everyone's heard of boxed lunches, but how about boxed bathrooms? First-time exhibitor Kullman Offsite Construction was drawing a crowd today with just such a concept during the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show being held here at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The Lebanon, NJ-based company is here presenting its Bathroom Pod, prefabricated rooms that allow for plug and play installation that includes stubbed-out connections for electric, plumbing and HVAC requirements.

The pods are built to developer's specs at Kullman's factory and then delivered complete to the project site.

The pods are available for both new build and renovation projects and can be installed by either the developer's contractor or Kullman.

According the Amy Marks, chief sales and marketing officer for Kullman, the company is able to design bathroom pods across all lodging segments.

"We have our standard Kullman bathroom pods, but we also do lots of custom-design pods in any shape or size, any interior finishes that [a developer] would like," she said, adding: "We have our own architects and engineers that can help you design any pod that you would like."

Marks noted the room is fully finished "right down to the toilet paper in the toilet-paper holder."

She said for developers and owners, having the pod pre-constructed helps cut down construction time "dramatically" and can allow for earlier occupancy.

Marks said in May the company will launch a designer line at HD Expo with an "iconic" designer with whom it is currently in discussions.
