NEW YORK—The first annual Revenue Strategy Summit took place at the Affinia Manhattan here and attracted some 200 executives from the fields of revenue management, marketing, sales and distribution.
Keynoting the session, which was powered by Duetto, Thayer Lodging CEO Lee Pillsbury called attendees to action, noting that adaptation and change have characterized the modern lodging industry. “There is no end to disruption,” said Pillsbury, who presented the advent of Revenue Strategy as the latest innovation in the industry.
In addition, Hotel Business Editor At Large Dennis Nessler interviewed Duetto chief technology officer/founder Craig Weissman and got his thoughts on a variety of revenue management issues. Weissman, who was previously with salesforce.com, acknowledged the lodging industry has lagged other industries from a technology standpoint but noted that progress has been made in recent years.
