SAN FRANCISCO—Industry veteran Barry Sternlicht, founder, chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group, has joined HotelTonight, an on-demand mobile hotel booking app, as a strategic advisor following an investment in the company.
HotelTonight also has teamed with several large scale chains, including IHG, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Best Western International, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, FRHI Hotels & Resorts, La Quinta Inn & Suites, Barcelo Hotels & Resorts, and Steigenberger Hotel Group.
With a focus on same day booking, HotelTonight is designed to attract incremental, tech-savvy customers without cannibalizing business from these chains' brand-loyal guests, according to the company.
