MICROS Hires Executive to Lead Global Product Development

COLUMBIA, MD—MICROS Systems, Inc. has appointed Russell Butler as SVP of global research and development.
In this new role, Butler will be responsible for leading MICROS’ development teams around the world, spanning its vertical markets hotels, food & beverage, and retail, as well as eCommerce.
Most recently, Butler served with IBM as VP, Messaging and Collaboration, where he led a worldwide product development organization spanning 12 locations. He also held several executive positions in IBM’s data integration and master data management product families.
Prior to joining IBM in 2005 in connection with IBM’s acquisition of Ascential Software, Butler held executive positions at Ascential Software, Mercator, AT&T and other leading technology companies.
