Accor Joins Expedia Traveler Preference Program

PARIS, FRANCE—The Expedia group has signed a long-term global agreement with Accor, in which Accor will participate in the new Expedia Traveler Preference (ETP) Program and all hotels will continue to be available on the more than 140 Expedia group travel booking sites in nearly 70 countries.
The ETP program offers travelers the choice to pay either at the time of booking (called Expedia Collect) or upon check out at the hotel directly (called Hotel Collect). Accor joins more than 20,000 hotels that have already signed up to offer ETP booking choices to travelers.
Accor is present in 92 countries with more than 3,500 hotels and 450,000 rooms.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
