NEW YORK—Residence Inn by Marriott continues to expand its presence in New York City with its latest addition, the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East and the introduction of the “East Side Story” penthouse suite.
“’East Side Story’ is the perfect name for this iconic hotel's signature suite in prestigious midtown Manhattan. The expansive terrace gives you such an impressive view of the neighborhood, including the Chrysler Building, and provides a little haven that is rare to come by in the city," stated Diane Mayer, VP and global brand manager, Residence Inn. “This chic, urban hotel is not only an impressive, modern edition to our brand, but also has a unique history. The tale behind this east side hotel makes the name 'East Side Story' that much more significant.”
The second Residence Inn to open in Manhattan, the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East's building was formerly the Helmsley Middletowne Hotel. It was in operation from 1928 until 2010. Located on East 48th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues, the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East is within walking distance to Grand Central Station and the United Nations. The Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East features studio and one-bedroom suites.
