PHOENIX—Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona, AZ, has been acquired by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
Kimpton acquired the 100-room boutique resort through its proprietary KHP-III fund, which closed in first quarter this year. The property will become Kimpton’s third hotel in Arizona.
Amara Resort and Spa had completed a $2 million renovation in September 2012, which included the addition of a 26,000-gallon infinity edge saltwater pool, as well as upgrades to the outdoor event space, fitness center, lobby, and Hundred Rox restaurant, such as water features and fire pits.
More renovations are planned as Kimpton integrates the property with the rest of its portfolio.
