HOUSTON—Tilman J. Fertitta, owner of Golden Nugget Casinos, has acquired the Casino Resort and Hotel currently under construction in Lake Charles, LA.
Upon completion, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino will feature nearly 800 guestrooms and suites; an 18-hole golf course; a spa; retail shopping; multiple Landry’s signature restaurants, including Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse and Grotto Italian Ristorante; an 18,000 sq.-ft. ballroom; a showroom and meeting spaces; and a pool, beachfront and marina. It will also offer a casino with over 60 table games, a poker room and 1,600 slot machines.
The property is expected to open in 2014. The company is investing nearly $600 million into the project.
