Americas Best Value Inn Adds 18 Hotels in First Quarter

CLEVELAND, OH—Americas Best Value Inn added 18 new properties during the first quarter of 2014.
With over 120 locations in Texas, ABVI welcomed six more in the state, including two in Houston and a 160-room property in Corpus Christi. Among the other additions are a 113-room inn in Wilmington, NC; a 93-room location in Hammond, LA; and properties in tourist destinations such as Augusta, GA, and Ozark, AR, which is on the southern edge of the Ozark Mountains.
ABVI’s 18 new inns, hotels and suites totaled 1,162 rooms and included conversions from Best Western, Days Inn and Travelodge.

When you hear all the lodging industry projections for the months and years to come, much of the robust growth is forecast to be the result of the expected influx of travelers from China. In what could only be seen as good news for the industry, that expectation moved a little closer to reality when President Obama signed a visa waiver extension for Chinese travelers earlier this month.
